We are delighted to introduce a new chapter in our MiWear interview series, where we highlight the people driving innovation across the project.

In this edition, we speak with Dr. Negin Soroush, Pharm.D., Ph.D., postdoctoral researcher at Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc) and a key contributor to the MiWear initiative.

Negin brings strong expertise in pharmacy, epidemiology, and clinical research, playing an essential role in advancing MiWear’s vision of developing inclusive, precise, and user-centered approaches to metabolic health through wearable technology.

A Focus on Biological, Sex, and Gender Differences

In the interview, Negin reflects on her scientific journey and her long-standing interest in understanding how biological and genetic differences influence health outcomes and responses to therapy. Her research explores why individuals with similar conditions may react differently to the same treatment, a core question in the field of precision medicine.

At Radboudumc, she focuses on sex- and gender-related differences in metabolic health disorders, such as metabolic syndrome, examining how hormonal profiles, body composition, and genetic factors shape health and treatment responses.

Contributing to Precision and Preventive Healthcare

Within MiWear, Negin provides critical expertise to ensure that these biological and social differences are considered from the earliest stages of device design and validation. Her perspective helps build wearable technologies that better reflect real-world diversity, contributing to more accurate and equitable health data.

She also expresses her enthusiasm for the potential of wearable sensors to collect continuous, real-life data — moving beyond traditional, episodic clinical measurements. For Negin, this shift represents an important step toward preventive, data-driven healthcare.

A Shared Vision for the Future

The interview offers an inspiring look into Negin’s commitment to advancing science that directly benefits people’s lives. Her perspective reinforces MiWear’s broader mission: to bridge scientific excellence with everyday health management, ensuring that innovation remains inclusive, evidence-based, and impactful.

We invite you to watch the full interview and hear directly from Negin about her work and her role in shaping the future of metabolic health.
